Laser Colour Prints & other Experiments

In 1990 I started to experiment with colour, in this case artificial colour, which was via new technology coming in at the time. Print shops were installing a new machine which offered a facility where you could feed a 10x8 black and white photo through a photocopier where certain tones could be highlighted via an attached electronic pen.

You could select a series of colours on the various grey tones on the black and white print, results sometimes were a bit unpredictable and hit and miss, but when it worked it felt extremely satisfying, and a welcome break from my usual black and white prints. Technology is constantly evolving as the years go by as is my desire to experiment and to sometimes get as far away from a traditional black & white photograph.
